Wallet business cards on your own server

We use AI where it makes us better – here too. HUMAN STRUCTURES is an AI-generated image series, developed and curated by us. It shows what we stand for: structure, clarity, orientation. And how we work: with the tools of today and the standards we have always held.
Your wallet business cards can be run as a standalone system. With their own web interface, on suitable customer infrastructure or with hosting and management by MOREMEDIA.
Larger companies often have clear requirements for running applications. Data location, access and technical responsibilities need to fit their existing IT setup. Employee contact management is no exception.
The standalone version lets you make a deliberate choice about operation. Software purchase and technical support are agreed separately.
A standalone application
The standalone software has its own web interface for managing the system. It can be installed on a suitable server environment within your company. We agree the technical requirements with your IT team before setup.
The wallet business card features remain the starting point. The operating model determines who provides and maintains the application.
Run by your IT team
With self-hosting, your company takes on the agreed operating tasks. These may include the server environment, backups and installing required updates. Any support from MOREMEDIA for setup or maintenance is defined separately.
Running the system yourself is particularly suitable when you already have appropriate infrastructure and staff capacity. The decision should therefore involve the people responsible for day-to-day operation.
Managed hosting by MOREMEDIA
If you prefer to hand over technical maintenance, MOREMEDIA can host and manage the software. This is our recommended option for companies that want a consistent point of contact for the application.
We agree which hosting, management and update services are included. Operating location, responsibilities and the required service scope are clarified before launch. The company licence and support remain separate items in the proposal.
Clarify accounts and responsibilities
Apple Wallet passes can be signed through your company's Developer account. This also applies when MOREMEDIA runs the application. Account ownership and technical support need to be organised accordingly.
Our article on issuer identity and data control explains the role of your own accounts.
Your own server still needs maintenance
Purchased software also needs ongoing care. Changes to operating systems, wallet platforms or your own infrastructure may require adjustments. Responsibilities should therefore be clear from day one.
A simple question helps when comparing options: who will handle these tasks, and what capacity do they have? Our article on digital business cards without a software subscription explains how to separate software and operating costs.
Start with an agreed plan
Before rollout, we discuss the server environment, data, design and necessary accounts. Test cards help verify the intended process on the devices in use. We then plan the rollout with your team.
If other systems are to be connected, those requirements are considered during planning. This prevents unclear responsibilities between the application, integration and infrastructure.

Frequently asked questions
- Can we host digital wallet business cards ourselves?
- Yes. The standalone version is available for operation on suitable customer infrastructure.
- What are the server requirements?
- Requirements are agreed before setup, based on the intended environment and project scope.
- Can MOREMEDIA run the system?
- Yes. Hosting, management and updates can be agreed as separate services.
- Does the Apple account stay with us?
- Signing can use your company's own Developer account. Access for technical support is set up accordingly.
- Does self-hosting make all wallet features available offline?
- No. Hosting the administration software yourself does not replace Apple and Google services. Retrieving a linked vCard also requires a connection to the server that provides it.
- Is self-hosting automatically more secure?
- Security depends on configuration, access and ongoing maintenance. Your own server gives you choices; these need to be implemented properly in operation.
