Keep control of your wallet business cards

We use AI where it makes us better – here too. HUMAN STRUCTURES is an AI-generated image series, developed and curated by us. It shows what we stand for: structure, clarity, orientation. And how we work: with the tools of today and the standards we have always held.
Who manages employee data? Whose account issues the wallet passes? And who runs the software? Data control starts with these practical decisions.
A digital business card displays only a few details to the outside world. Behind it are an administration system, technical accounts and ongoing operation. Companies benefit from clarifying these layers before rollout.
MOREMEDIA offers a company system with a choice of operating models and Apple Wallet signing through the customer's Developer account. This allows important responsibilities to sit with the company itself.
Choose where the application runs
The standalone software can run on suitable customer infrastructure or be managed by MOREMEDIA. Your company chooses the agreed operating model and works with those responsible to decide where the application runs and who needs access.
Our article on wallet business cards on your own server explains the practical allocation of tasks.
Sign Apple passes with your own account
Apple Wallet passes are signed with a certificate associated with a Pass Type ID. This identifier and certificate are configured in an Apple Developer account. With MOREMEDIA, that account can belong to your company.
This makes the technical issuer identity clear. Your company holds the account; MOREMEDIA can be engaged to help with setup and the required certificates. Having your own account is a practical component of digital sovereignty.
Separate ownership from technical support
A company-owned account does not mean your employees must perform every technical task themselves. What matters is who controls the account and which permissions are assigned to the people maintaining it.
Before rollout, the responsible contacts and certificate management are agreed. This avoids leaving operation dependent on an unclear individual responsibility. Rights associated with a later handover belong in the specific agreement.
Publish only the details you need
A company card does not need to display every available data field. Decide which contact details should be public and who approves changes. This matters for mobile numbers, photographs or changing responsibilities, for example.
Data maintenance should fit your internal processes. Our article on central employee card management explains how to organise changes, new starters and departures.
Wallet platforms remain involved
Hosting the administration software on your own infrastructure does not turn Apple Wallet and Google Wallet into your own services. Those platforms remain involved in providing and using wallet cards. Google Wallet requires an issuer account; data flows and account ownership need to be clarified during setup.
We therefore describe digital sovereignty in concrete terms: control of your own application, chosen data hosting and agreed accounts. Complete independence from Apple and Google would not be an accurate promise while using their wallets.
Consider privacy in operation
Your responsible teams need to assess the actual data flows, access arrangements and operating services. Your own infrastructure alone does not answer those questions. Required data and responsibilities should be clearly documented before launch.
Buying the software and commissioning ongoing services are separate decisions too. Read more in our article on buying digital business card software once.

Frequently asked questions
- Can our Apple Wallet passes be signed through our own account?
- Yes. MOREMEDIA can configure signing through your company's Apple Developer account.
- What is the benefit of our own account?
- The issuer identity and associated permissions belong to your company. Ongoing technical support can still be provided externally.
- Do we have to manage the certificates ourselves?
- Responsibilities are agreed. MOREMEDIA can provide the corresponding management as a service.
- Is the solution completely independent of Apple and Google?
- No. Using Apple Wallet and Google Wallet still means using their platforms. In particular, you can control your application, operating model and agreed accounts.
