Since its founding in 1994, EWS Consulting has been committed with great passion and conviction to expanding renewable energy in Austria. With their many years of expertise and dedication, the experts at EWS Consulting have played a decisive role in the successful realization of numerous projects in wind power, photovoltaics, and other sustainable energy sources. Plants that EWS Consulting helped bring to life today generate a proud 6.5% of Austria's total electricity demand – a significant contribution to the energy transition and to the sustainable energy supply of our country.

With an impressive completed project volume of over 3 billion euros, the company bears enormous responsibility for Austria's ecological and economic future. For decades, this responsibility has been embraced with great dedication, innovative strength, and a firm commitment to preserving our planet for future generations. Every employee at EWS Consulting is proud to contribute to this important mission day after day and to actively help shape the energy transition.

To give this strong stance and future-oriented work a visual expression as well, we developed a new, modern brand design for EWS Consulting. This was complemented by an extensive design manual that enables the simple, consistent, and efficient application of the new brand identity. This ensures that EWS Consulting also pursues a clear, professional, and unified visual line — perfectly equipped for the future.

The answer to a dynamic world with a familiar feel.

For the typography of the new brand identity, we deliberately chose a careful yet powerful evolution of the previous corporate font. The goal was to create new dynamism and modernity within the new corporate design without losing the familiar look and recognizability. The choice fell on the “Neue DIN” type family, which picks up the character of the previous typography while translating it into a contemporary, future-oriented design language.

Neue DIN impresses with a compact, rigorous overall appearance that nevertheless feels finely balanced. This distinctive typeface is the result of a dynamic interplay of nine – in some cases very extreme – width variants and a variable-first approach that ensures maximum flexibility in digital applications. The technical character is complemented by subtle touches of elegance that lend the typeface additional refinement and modernity.

The design of Neue DIN merges the functional demands of today's digital world with a clear, modern interpretation of German engineering. The type family preserves the matter-of-fact, precise character that DIN type traditionally stands for, but extends it with finely nuanced organic forms and carefully balanced spacing. The result is a fresh, distinctive typeface that ideally embodies the company's quality and innovative strength while forming a strong foundation for a sustainable, future-proof brand identity.

In developing the design system, we pursued, as always, a simple but effective goal: creating a modern, no-frills design with high recognition value that can be used universally thanks to precisely defined application rules. The design system created for EWS Consulting already proved itself in numerous designs during the development process and guarantees a consistent design line that can be maintained for the long term.

The recurring design elements

To ensure the characteristic design line of the new presence is clear and consistent, we defined several recurring design elements that shape the visual expression and strengthen the brand identity. These carefully selected elements — from graphic shapes and line work to distinctive surface treatments — form the foundation of an unmistakable design language that runs consistently through all applications and creates a high degree of recognizability.

The consistent, deliberate use of these elements ensures that the new corporate design does not feel arbitrary but develops a clear, distinctive profile. At the same time, when defining the design rules, we made a point of creating deliberately open structures. The application of the design elements follows certain principles, which were carefully crafted to leave room for creativity.

Instead of imposing rigid restrictions, these rules offer orientation and flexibility at the same time. This keeps the design alive and adaptable without losing its fundamental line. In this way, we avoid over-regulation that would needlessly complicate the creative process, and instead encourage creative implementation within a clear, easily understandable framework that effectively showcases the uniqueness of the brand.

The combination of the frame element, the abstract icons, and the slogan – and, in eye-catching designs, the use of the frame line together with the slogan – creates the unique design DNA of the EWS Consulting brand.
