Website relaunch & career portal for Gföllner

Technically well thought out. Structurally scalable. Built to last for many years.

For Gföllner, a comprehensive website with an integrated career portal was developed that solves a central challenge: bringing together four substantively different business divisions in one clearly structured, intuitively usable, and visually consistent platform. The goal was to reflect the company's depth and diversity of content without overloading the user experience – while making Gföllner tangible as a modern employer and technology leader in the digital space.

Based on a well-thought-out concept, a website was created that remains lean, logically structured, and contextually navigable despite 394 individual pages. Using a flexible Drupal system, the entire solution – from strategic web design and structure to technical implementation – could be tailored precisely to Gföllner's requirements and the needs of the target groups. The result is a platform that doesn't just display content but organizes it intelligently and makes it accessible.

Emotional campaign for over 150 open positions — with a claim that speaks the target group's language.

An information architecture that makes complexity manageable.

What seems enormously complex at first glance is made manageable by a clearly defined information architecture and intelligent navigation logic. The entire sitemap forms the basis for a system that not only manages content but links it meaningfully and delivers it in context. The result is a platform that, despite its scope, always provides orientation, guides users purposefully through the content, and remains stable and comprehensible as it continues to grow.

Four areas with different requirements – connected by a shared, flexible system logic.

Each of Gföllner's business divisions brings its own depth of content, structures, and requirements. The challenge was not to homogenize these differences but to represent them deliberately – while transferring them into a flexible system. Modular templates and a wide range of specific content types produced a solution that presents content optimally while ensuring a consistent overall impression. At the same time, great importance was placed on simple, efficient content management in the backend. Automated processes in the background ensure that even at this scale, content can be edited in a structured, fast, and sustainable way. The platform thus remains not only visually and editorially strong, but also maintainable in the long term and easy to manage day to day.

A well-thought-out design system as the basis for flexible, consistent user interfaces.

The wide variety of content and requirements was translated into a clearly structured design system that serves as the basis for the entire website. Recurring components such as icons, buttons, and tags, as well as elements for navigation, filtering, and sorting functions, were developed to be flexibly deployable while ensuring a consistent visual line.

Each component follows defined design and functional principles that enable a consistent user experience across all areas. At the same time, the system offers enough flexibility to represent different content and requirements precisely. The result is a user interface that is not only visually convincing but also structurally stable, extensible, and built for long-term use.

Particular attention was paid to the responsive implementation: instead of merely scaling content automatically, all components were deliberately conceived and adapted for different device classes. Navigation elements, interactions, and content are designed to offer an equally high-quality user experience on every screen size – from smartphone to large desktop.

The multi-level navigation responds dynamically to the given context, adapting to the section, content, and position within the website. Instead of rigid menu structures, this creates guidance that leads users purposefully through the content and always makes visible exactly what is relevant at that moment. Depending on the entry point and navigation depth, the structure changes so that orientation is maintained and content can be explored intuitively. This reduces the platform's complexity while ensuring clear, consistent user guidance.

Questions and answers about this reference project

Gföllner is a renowned vehicle construction and container technology specialist from Upper Austria with international ambitions. MOREMEDIA® developed a powerful Drupal website with an integrated career portal for Gföllner — technically well thought out, structurally scalable, and built to last for many years.

Why did Gföllner choose Drupal as its CMS?

Drupal offers decisive advantages for demanding corporate websites: maximum flexibility, excellent scalability, and a high degree of automation. For day-to-day operations, this means significantly simpler maintenance — content can be updated efficiently, processes can be largely automated, and the system stays stable even as requirements grow.

How do you structure a website with 394 individual pages clearly?

The key lies in a clearly defined information architecture and intelligent navigation logic. For Gföllner, all content was structurally mapped and organized around the needs of the individual target groups. A multi-level, context-sensitive navigation adapts dynamically to section, content, and position – keeping the platform navigable at all times despite its scale and letting it grow without losing orientation.

How was the connection to the recruiting software solved technically?

We developed a custom interface that loads job postings directly from Gföllner's existing recruiting software into the career portal – always up to date and without any manual maintenance effort. Incoming applications are returned to the recruiting software in a structured way, so the entire application process runs seamlessly.

How was the design system for the Gföllner website developed?

For Gföllner, a comprehensive design system was created that serves as the basis for all pages and components. Recurring elements such as icons, buttons, tags, and filter and sorting functions were designed to be flexibly combinable while ensuring a consistent visual line. All components were deliberately conceived and optimized for different device classes – from smartphone to large desktop.

How does such an extensive website stay maintainable in the long run?

Thanks to automated background processes and a well-thought-out backend concept, content can be edited in a structured, fast, and efficient way – with no technical know-how required. The modular templates make it easy to add new content and to extend the system effortlessly as requirements grow, without compromising the overall structure.
